Little Chefs- Empanadas

In the “Little Chefs” series by Little Cocoa Bean Co., we unleash our creativity and confidence in the kitchen. Together we master new skills, explore new flavors and learn about food and culture all while having fun!

In our next class (Friday, April 12th) we’ll be making EMPANADAS

Different cultures around the world stuff small sheets of dough with different fillings for celebrations, family meals and more. We’ll learn about many of these different stuffed treats and make our own!

Fun Friday Series: Paw Patrol Yoga with Ms. Ava

In this class we will move, breathe, play, and relax with our friends from Paw Patrol! Yogis will work on gross motor skills through mindful movement and challenges based on each character’s role in Paw Patrol. At the end of the class, children will get their own Paw Patrol Pup Training Certificate.

Price includes a “pup treat” for each yogi!

Having a baby (whether through birth or adoption) is a powerful and transformative experience in every parent's life. In this art therapy workshop, you will have the opportunity to create a collage related to your birth story/ies. Come join an intimate group for an evening of art-making and conversation. All materials provided - no experience necessary!

Rachel Becker is an art therapist and mom of 1.5-year-old, Rose. She completed her Master's in Israel, and recently returned to her home state of Massachusetts where she settled in JP. Rachel currently works as an art therapist with senior citizens, and as a new mom is interested in all things related to pregnancy, birth, and parenthood.

Bring your little ones dressed in their pjs (not required) and we will teach each little chef how to make cake pops! Each little chef will leave with three cake pops to share with the whole family!

NAPs Breastfeeding Support Group (FREE)

Hosted by Boston NAPs. This free group is held in-person (every other week at the Tot Cafe. The session is led by a Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Meghan Talerman.

The group is open to all families who are breastfeeding, pumping and/or bottle feeding. Bring your baby and all of your breastfeeding, pumping, and bottle feeding questions, concerns and stories to our community of non-judgmental support

Black Breastfeeding Week Lactation Tea Party!

The Boston Health Start Initiative (BHSI) provides direct support to pregnant and parenting women, children and families. It provides care coordination, connection to resources, health education, and advocacy. BHSI is a free and voluntary program. It is open to self-identified black women in Boston who are pregnant or parenting children up to the age of 18 months.

BLACK BREASTFEEDING WEEK

Black babies die at twice –– and in some places, three times –– the rate as white infants. According to the CDC, increased breastfeeding could decrease infant mortality by as much as 50%.

Black Breastfeeding week was launched over nine years ago by Kimberly Seals Allers, Kiddada Green and Anayah Sangodele-Ayoka. Black Breastfeeding Week grew out of the need to promote awareness and highlight the special challenges and triumphs of being Black and breastfeeding.

In celebration of Black Breastfeeding Week 2023, BHSI is hosting a Tea Party! Participants will enjoy a range of declicious teas, deserts, sandwhiches and more! Each participant with also receive a gift totaling more than $250 of breastfeeding and breast-freindly supplies.
